DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!! -- 2010-07-06
I purchased 2 pair of these collars from Atlantis Fitness [...] ...I have tested the Plastic Quicklee collars modified/unmodified as have several other weight gyms in my area they slip and loosen and they have failed to hold tight to the weights no matter what bar they are used on...The Quicklee collars are made of steel and plastic and have only 3 bearings to attempt to hold tight to the bars... I have also tested the Lock-Jaw collars... After using the Lock-Jaw collars for awhile and changing the weights out they also started to loosen and slip and failed to hold tight to the weights... The CQuik collars made by Ivanko have 6 bearings instead of 3 like the Quicklee collars and hold tight to the weights although they are quite expensive... The Ivanko COT 1.25 and COT 2.5 hold tight to the weights during workouts and are the best collars I have tested... I have decided to replace all my collars with the Ivanko COT 1.25 and COT 2.5 collars... The bars that I have been testing the collars on are Ivanko bars... The weights are also all Ivanko... I paid $33.58 for the Quicklee collars from Atlantis Fitness [...] and $7.70 to ship them back making the total cost $44.28 ... Atlantis Fitness [...] have the collars back and they have not refunded me a single penny...
If you are looking for a collar that will hold tight to the weights during workouts you should definitely pass on the Quicklee collars... Disapointed OKIE!!!
Quicklee Collars -- 2010-04-23
Works as advertised. Makes changing weights much faster and easier than any other type of collar out there that I know of. Well worth the price for anybody who uses olympic barbells. Would buy again. However,you must be very careful not to drop these or other collars made like them: they are easy to break with any misuse whatsoever [you've been warned].
