Bought it Twice, Broke Twice -- 2010-09-01
I am 185 lbs and i've purchased this bike twice, and both times it broke in the same place.

All i do is ride the bike standing up. So my butt is not on the seat.

That's it.

Both times, the metal arm, that the pedal connects to, developed a tiny crack and slowly got worse until the pedal was unstable and unsafe to ride on.

It took just 6 - 10 months for it to happen (sorry, i didn't write it down, but i think it's in that range). It certainly didn't last a year.

I liked it while it worked and i bought it because it's cheap and i figured it wouldn't just break if i didn't neglect it.

Unfortunately it did break.

So i'm going to look for another one that is slightly more expensive, but still cheap, and hope the same thing doesn't happen.

All Good -- 2010-08-16
Bought this item via Amazon over other retailers because of the free shipping (delivered very quickly by Fed-Ex). Took a while to put together, and the tension chord was a complete bitch, but I broke out my trusty wrench and got it in place. This bike is very sturdy, and I tightened the piss out of the nuts and bolts so it would be. I can see where the base legs and seat may wobble if the bolts are not tight, so be vigilant about that. Had to get used to the smooth, noiseless ride, and the higher tension settings will get smoother as I get more used to it. The lower settings are very smooth and effortless. The plastic case was intact, no bolts were missing, all was good, and the bike fits into a convenient spot in my apartment and takes up little space. As a cardio exerciser, it works well, and after 15 minutes of use I was sweating like, well, like a fat guy on a bike. After 30 minutes I could barely walk, but, again, that's due to me, not the bike. The seat really does hurt the 'taint' area, but I'd chalk that up to my ass being too fat, and not as a fault of the seat. As of now, after one day's use, I am completely satisfied with this relatively cheap and very convenient (and silent) exercise bike. I recommend it, though I am no expert on exercise. Good value, solid structure, free and quick shipping = very satisfied.

Very Pleased -- 2010-07-14
I've had this product for about a month. Arrived on time. Box a bit dinged, but product was untouched - no dings, no scratches. Assembly instructions are adequate. If you have not had at least a bit of mechanical adventures, get a friend to help you. Works as advertised, so for the price a great deal. Only wish I have is that the calorie counter would take into account the tension control setting.

Exercise bike for small spaces -- 2010-07-12
I bought this bike mainly because of its low price and small size. It does fit into a rather small space in my home office, and it's quiet and smooth. It took me about an hour and a half to put it together (I'm a 61-year-old woman)- a little challenging, but not impossible. I had to buy a gel seat for it, since the seat is pretty uncomfortable without it. My biggest complaint is the configuration of the handlebars. I'm not racing anywhere, but the handlebars are way out in front like a racing cycle. This means I either have to stretch out for it (hard on the arms and shoulders), or sit up very straight with my hands holding onto the back of the seat. I never realized what an issue this would be when I saw the product description. If you can get a similar cycle with "normal" handlebars, you will be much happier.

ok you're fat..get this -- 2010-07-06
I am fat. This came after ten years of late night drinking and eating pizza, burgers, fried onions, and chocolate milkshakes. I use to be in good shape back in college, like fifteen years ago. I decided to be a writer and kept drinking more and more. I got published in magazines like 3am and Word Riot. I reached my goal, but I looked in the mirror and I was 315 pounds. I needed to make a change. I got this bike because let's face it; I am cheap. I put the thing together and I never read instructions. It seemed flimsy and my butt barely fit on the rock hard seat. I was surprised that it held my girth up, but Marcy did. She is quiet too, just like I want my girlfriend. I decided that in order to lose weight you have to work at it. I am still fat but I try and do thirty minutes a day. You have to start somewhere. A week later this thing was holding up laundry.
